Exegistics, an industry leader in third party logistics and supply chain innovation has partnered with Industry Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (ICATT), the leading apprenticeship program in the Midwest for high-tech manufacturers and companies with complex technologies or logistics, to launch a new and innovative three-year Advanced Logistics apprenticeship.
With solutions in warehousing and distribution, transportation management and operational staffing, Exegistics’ partnership with ICATT creates opportunities for candidates to learn best practices and begin a career in providing supply chain solutions.
“As a leader in supply chain innovation and proponent of veteran assistance programs, we have been searching for a long-term solution to recruiting and retaining new employees. Conjointly, we see this as a major opportunity to source an untapped veteran workforce,” says Stephen Olds, Founder, and CEO of Exegistics. “We were impressed by the ICATT Apprenticeship Program, not only because of their proven model, but also because the program is G.I. Bill certified. As a Veteran-Owned Small Business, it was important for our company to partner with a program who aligned with our core values.”
Exegistics stands out as the only supply chain solutions company featured on Inc. 5000’s inaugural list of the 50 fastest growing veteran-owned companies and has been an advocate for and of the veteran workforce since the company’s inception in 2008.
ICATT currently offers apprenticeships in CNC machining and Advanced Manufacturing and in only three years, the program doubled in size with more than 75 apprentices and 50 companies.
“We saw an opportunity to expand our current program by providing a logistics apprenticeship,” says Mario Kratsch, Head of the ICATT Apprenticeship Program. “Much like how the high-tech manufacturing industry is struggling with a widening skills gap, logistics companies are also struggling to stay competitive because of the shortage of skilled talent. Through our apprenticeship program, Exegistics will have a sustainable workforce development solution that will provide a pipeline of talent over time.”
The ICATT Apprenticeship Program is the only program in the Midwest fully benchmarked on the German Dual Education System, a time-tested program that combines company-specific knowledge, theory and hands-on learning to train a globally competitive workforce.
The Advanced Logistics apprenticeship is available for companies starting in the Fall of 2019.
