For innovation in quality, productivity, safety, and service, Exegistics looks to our team members. To recognize our team mates’ innovative ideas, each quarter one employee is awarded the Lightbulb award. Ideas are submitted to our general managers who nominate a teammate for their idea and present it to the management team. From the those nominated in the 1st Quarter of 2018, Sixto Pepin’s was selected as the winner of the Lightbulb Award.
Sixto’s idea was to use a forklift accessory called a slipsheet to load and unload unpalletized boxes into trailers. The slipsheet makes it much easier and safer to load and unload the trailers without the need of extra employees to lift and double stack boxes. When using this accessory, only one forklift operator is needed to load and unload a trailer instead of 3-4 employees. This reduces labor costs by 75% per hour while reducing the potential of accidents!
As recognition for his great idea, Sixto received $600! His winning idea will be framed and displayed at all operations facilities.
